It was around January 2006 when I wrote my first post on Blogger. I needed an outlet to write stuff and post pictures, which by the way, I had just started clicking. So I kept writing bits of stuff and putting up photos around which I wrote little rhymes. And it was fun. My B-Schoolmates used to read them occasionally and some liked the stuff I posted, which made me write more.
And then I went on an exchange programme, where I thought I’d write about my life in a foreign country. Like a daily diary. Never happened. A few posts here and there. There were so many things to do and so little time to write.
So when I had some time between graduation and joining work, I thought I’d start afresh with blogging too. So I moved to Vox, because a review of blogging platforms suggested that Vox was good. So yesterday, I was surfing through the posts there and found that I had something like 38 posts. Mostly inane ones about daily life (like a journal). Not bad for an irregular blogger.
The next step was twitter, which I will take up in my next post. Through all the junta on twitter, I found out why wordpress is such a great and friendly tool and so I switched. Not too many posts there though. By then I was sufficiently busy. Startup Saturdays and for a brief time, Voteyatra.
So suddenly, about 10 days ago the dreamhost offer came up and with an idle geocities webpage, I thought, “Why not”? So here I am on a self-hosted blog, learning the ropes.
